Pakistani pakora recipe

Sure, here’s a recipe for Pakistani-style pakoras:

Ingredients:

1 cup chickpea flour (besan)

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon cumin powder

½ teaspoon coriander powder

¼ teaspoon red chili powder

¼ teaspoon turmeric powder

¼ teaspoon baking soda

½ cup water

1 medium onion, finely sliced

1 medium potato, peeled and thinly sliced

Vegetable oil for deep frying

Instructions:

Chickpea flour, salt, cumin, coriander, red chilli powder, turmeric, and baking soda should all be combined in a mixing bowl. Mix thoroughly.

To create a smooth batter, gradually pour the water in while stirring. The batter must be sufficiently thick to cover the vegetables.

Mix well before adding the sliced potatoes and onions to the batter.

In a deep frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.

Drop small amounts of the batter-coated vegetables into the hot oil with a spoon or your hands. The pakoras should be fried for 2 to 3 minutes on each side, or until crispy and golden brown.

Using a slotted spoon, take the pakoras from the oil, and then drain them on paper towels to absorb any extra oil.

With your preferred chutney or sauce, serve hot. Enjoy!
